Having experienced firsthand the promise of mindfulness for living a life of greater presence, simplicity and happiness, I am deeply grateful for the teachers and mentors—both formal and informal—who have supported me. My vocational purpose is to help people connect more fully with themselves, with others, and with the beauty of the world around them through mindful awareness.
As a parent to two teenagers, an organizational development consultant, an entrepreneur and artist, mindfulness (especially compassion-based practices) has helped me navigate uncertainty and build resilience both personally and professionally. As a leader with clinical ADHD, I’ve found that mindfulness is not only a professional endeavor but also a critical component in my own growth and evolution and professional success. I believe every person has both a leading gift and a leading challenge and that only when we are willing to courageously speak both aloud can we find ease and contentment in our lives.
In turn, I am passionate about sharing the simple, yet powerful teachings that have revealed my purpose with greater clarity and cultivated peace at times when I have needed it the most.
In addition to having served as resident teacher for Evolve Yoga, I co-designed and piloted "Lightened Leaders,” a program that targeted stress management and mindfulness meditation for Executive Directors and CEOs serving social sector organizations. Currently teaching at Full Circle Yoga in Duluth, MN, I also offer private yoga and mindfulness coaching and design and host meditation retreats for individuals and corporate clients. In this role, I have had the privilege of conducting mindfulness workshops for foundations across Minnesota and occasionally offer the teachings as a keynote speaker. The most popular topic that has revealed itself to me is “how to re-write the self limiting "scripts" of our lives to uncover greater connection, contentment, and joy.” With over 15 years in service to the social sector, my aim is to help clients strengthen social-emotional awareness and provide practical tools to help them manage competing priorities with greater ease. I am also co-founder of Pierson Henry Executive Search, where I work to connect purpose-driven leaders in the social sector with new career opportunities.
I am a certified Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher through Sutra Seekers under mentorship of Brittany Belisle and am certified in Organizational Culture Leadership and the “Neuroscience of Change” through Coaches Rising, a program designed for coaches and accredited by the International Coaching Federation. My mindfulness training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and through dedication to Vipassana meditation as led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, keeps me grounded as a dedicated student of yoga and mindfulness.
Recognized with a "5 under 40" award by the St. Cloud Times, my expertise in embodied leadership is valued in high-stress professions, including healthcare and long-term care. My aim is to foster greater personal wellness and enhanced leadership skills for all who seek to experience the power of mindfulness with an open mind and heart.
Most importantly, I am continually astonished by the beauty of the world around me and find the greatest teachings to be in the relationships I’ve been blessed with in my life, especially with my two children, Jack and Norah and my partner Kerry.
